Sunshine and Rain!

For our 2011 event the weather was glorious and sunny on the Saturday, but unusually wet and windy on the Sunday - a complete contrast between the two days and the first time we've had bad weather for many years. Nevertheless, we saw many old friends and made several new ones, including those hardy souls who braved Sunday's rain to see the gardens in rather different conditions to normal!

Over the weekend, visitors came from Holland, the USA, Australia and Norway as well as Yorkshire, Devon, Somerset, and much closer to home in Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and our own county of Worcestershire. If you were one of those visitors, thank you for your support: thanks to your generosity we were able to make to donations for urgent roof repairs in our village church, exterior maintenance at our Community Centre and also the local WI, Brownies and the Gardening Club of Bredon Hill Middle School. If you haven't been to Ashton's Open Gardens event before you will be very welcome in 2012!
